Asthma is a major-medical condition that literally millions and millions of Americans deal with daily.

All on its own, asthma in adults is plenty dangerous. If you’ve ever had an asthma attack, you’ve no doubt already experienced the difficulty breathing, the fear, the confusion, and the frustration of your body actively rebelling against you.

But that’s as an adult. As an adult, you can take advantage of a wide range of asthma solutions, many of them proven to be incredibly effective at stopping an asthma attack dead in its tracks before it has the potential to become something really, life-threatening. Infants don’t have that luxury.

Per recent research published by the American Academy of Pediatrics, Asthma is one of the most significant dangers facing infants today and certainly one of the most potentially deadly conditions they’ll have to deal with in their young lives.

Asthma attacks in infants can quickly spiral out of control, so much so that you must act decisively and almost instantly to have any real success at avoiding significant or long-term damage to their bodies – or even death.

As a responsible parent, you want to be sure that you are armed with plenty of information to quickly navigate any asthma attack in your children, especially those that are less than nine months old. The when your baby is this young you aren’t going to be able to use a traditional inhale or to provide them with a shot of life-saving medicine.

No, you’re going to have to take a different approach to get top-tier results that will save their lives in a hurry and help you get the peace of mind you need as a parent as well.

By paying attention to all the inside information that we can share with you below you’ll be able to quickly and decisively respond to any asthma attack that your baby may be dealing with. It’s obviously always a good idea to speak directly with your pediatrician to make sure that these approaches are going to work (and that they are going to be effective), but make sure that you keep this information in the back of your mind should your child ever have an asthma attack befall them.

Let’s dive right in to helping keep your child safe!

Prevention is the Most Important Approach

The best way to make sure that your children grow up to be healthy and happy is to start them off with healthy and happy habits, taking the time to really leverage preventative cures and solutions that allow them to avoid having to deal with an asthma attack in the first place.

At the same time, most people understand that prevention is a “tougher sell” for a variety of different reasons – even when you know that it’s going to be much easier (and much more effective) in the long term to prevent asthma attacks than to try and find a cure in seconds to prevent long-term damage to your baby.

Do everything you can to be smart about preventing asthma attacks, whether that’s through appropriate nutrition, smart “intent exercises,” and looking out for any potential allergens that might cause an asthma attack in the first place.

Believe it or not, medical researchers have recently uncovered a close link between vitamin D deficiency levels in babies and as. Per the American Academy of Pediatrics (and the report that we referenced above), close to 86% of children living with asthma as babies are dealing with a significant deficiency of vitamin D as well. Only 19% of non-asthmatic children have the same kind of vitamin D deficiency, as per the data released in this report.

Therefore, you need to be 100% certain your baby is getting a “full boat” of quality vitamins and nutrition each single time you feed them. You need to not only be sure that you are providing them with the building blocks to create stronger muscles and stronger bones, but you also need to be sure that their little bodies are flooded with vitamins like vitamin D to prevent these kinds of dangerous diseases and deficiencies from happening in the first place.

Reports published in USA TODAY has shown that more doctors are recommending that babies are given a daily vitamin D supplement, especially since these babies aren’t encouraged to be exposed to direct sunlight (one of the most effective ways to get plenty of vitamin D into your body as an adult) because of the potential risk factors it has on their skin and their overall wellness.

Obviously, you’ll need to make sure that you take the right approach to including a vitamin D supplement in the food that your baby is going to consume while they are still infants. A typical multivitamin just isn’t going to cut it, and children under two years old are still probably too young to be eating Flintstone chewable or the like.

You’ll also want to be sure that you do your level best to prevent any allergens from entering the spaces that they sleep in and other areas that they spend a significant amount of their day in as well.

There are a variety of different tests that you can schedule with your pediatrician to better understand the potential allergies that your child may be dealing with. These tests are going to allow you to get out in front of significant allergen issues that can cause asthma attacks, and they’re also going to help you better improve the overall quality of life that your baby enjoys as they grow and develop.

You may not be able to wrap them in a bubble to protect them from EVERYTHING that the outside world brings to the table, but if you’re able to make their bed and nursery area as allergen-free as possible, you won’t have nearly as much to worry about. After all, when they are sleeping is when new parents are likely to sleep, and you don’t ever want to worry about “dropping the ball” and missing a potentially life-threatening asthma attack just because you were asleep when these allergens attacked.

Treating Asthmatic Conditions with as Non-invasive and All-Natural Solutions as Possible

Prevention is a wonderful thing, but at the end of the day, you simply aren’t going to be able to foresee or prevent every situation that arises in the future that may potentially threaten to create an asthmatic episode.

Therefore, you’re going to need to be certain that you take advantage of treatment solutions for asthma in babies, solutions that have proven time and time again to be wonderfully effective as well as safe enough for use with children that have yet to live in their first year of life.

As we highlighted above, traditional inhalers just aren’t going to be able to get the job done what it comes to relieving asthma attacks in infants. The chemicals you would be exposed to with these kinds of medical devices are just too harsh for the developing body of a brand-new baby, and exposing them to these kinds of chemicals can compound and exacerbate the issue or create a series of dangerous side effects that can be entirely unpredictable.

No, you’re going to want to go with a much more all-natural approach when you’re looking to clear up asthma in babies.

Believe it or not, acupuncture has been shown time and time again to have a tremendous impact on eliminating asthmatic symptoms in children. With the help of a licensed practitioner, acupuncture used in the right way can dramatically reduce the amount of asthma that a child deals with on a regular basis. Not only will they be able to provide you with targeted asthma acupuncture solutions and services, but they will also be able to offer you traditional Chinese herbs in a proprietary blend that provide your baby with real and instant relief from asthma symptoms without any negative side effects rearing their ugly head.

New research also suggests that it’s also possible to “massage” the asthma right out of your baby’s body, though you’re going to need to take at least a handful of lessons from a professional masseuse to understand exactly how and when you’re going to want to target specific spots on the body to relieve the tension caused by asthma and to eliminate the inflammation that it produces in the respiratory tract.

Nebulizers have also been proven to be wonderfully effective against asthma were young children and babies, and the liquid medicine that your pediatrician prescribes to be used with a nebulizer is almost always going to be gentle enough not to produce any potentially dangerous side effects while still being plenty potent enough to give you the effective results you need when asthma rears its ugly head.

The overwhelming majority of parents that choose to use nebulizers are going to choose these solutions while their babies sleep. This produces a targeted solution and introduces a stream of listed medication into the respiratory tract, eliminating asthmatic episodes before they even have a chance to start.

Controllers and certain rescue inhalers may be prescribed by your pediatrician, depending entirely upon the exact specifics of your child’s case and the risk factors that you are willing to deal with when it comes to these prescription grade medications.

Even though most rescue inhalers carry some different side effects that could jeopardize the long-term health of your baby come a lot of new parents choose to have one around just in case a serious attack cannot be managed or mitigated any other way. This isn’t an ideal situation or solution compared to some of the other options we have highlighted above, but it’s better than the alternative – which would be doing absolutely nothing.

Controllers, the other hand, can also be used effectively to eliminate asthma attacks and they are much gentler than the rescue inhalers that you may have to use in an emergency. These controllers will include aerosol steroids, all of which have been scientifically proven to reduce inflammation dramatically, lower swellings significantly, and clear up asthma attacks only moments after they have been administered.

Closing Thoughts

At the end of the day, there are always going to be some different effective asthma in the infant solutions available for you to take advantage of to help make sure that your baby lives a happy and healthy lifestyle while they have plenty of time to grow and develop.

All the information included in this quick guide can be taken advantage of to improve the health and wellness of your little bundle of joy, but it is of critical importance to remember just how valuable it is to work together with your pediatrician to really optimize the care and wellness of your baby.

As a new parent, it is easy to become overwhelmed by all the different things that you must juggle with a newborn baby. It isn’t at all that difficult to feel completely overloaded, completely overtaxed, and like you have no real grasp on what to do when an emergency strikes.

But by leveraging the help that we have offered above and the professional knowledge, experience, and recommendations of the pediatrician that you have chosen to help care for your child you have a lot less to worry about. It isn’t ever going to be easy watching your child struggle with asthma, but that doesn’t mean that you aren’t going to be able to help them with proven to be effective solutions that improve their health, eliminate they are strong, and help them breathe easy all day AND all night!

You need to be vigilant about future asthma attacks, you need to be smart about the solutions that you used to help clear these issues up, and you need to combine short-term solutions with long-term strategies that free your child from asthma once and for all.

Modern technology is great for so many aspects of life, but it causes one major problem: more neck pain. The positions that we must sit in at a desk contribute to posture problems, which lead to misaligned spines. We also suffer more stress and discomfort in our shoulders and necks.

Even if we don’t sit at a desk, neck pain can be a problem. We tend to sleep in awkward positions or sit on the couch in poor ways for our spines.

Neck pain doesn’t just cause problems with this part of our body. We’re more at risk of developing headaches and pain in other parts of our body. Everything is connected to this top part of our spine.

So, it’s time to find relief. The great news is that yoga will help to strengthen and support the neck. If you suffer from neck pain daily, you need to try the following nine yoga exercises. No, you don’t need to join a yoga class to benefit!

Do the Stretching Cat Daily

One of the first exercises you will want to do is the stretching cat. Start on all fours and curl your spine upwards, drawing your head downwards towards your knees. You will stretch the back of your neck out.

Now lift your head up and push your chest towards the floor. You should get an arch to your back and stretch out the front of your neck.

As you get used to this, you can take the back-arching part of the exercise one step further. Push yourself forward on your hands and allow your hips to sit on the floor. Keep your upper body off the floor, so you have a full arch in your back. Look up to the ceiling, stretching your neck out fully.

Return to the curled-up cat position. Keep yourself in the positions for 30 seconds to really allow the muscles chance to stretch fully.

Do 10 cycles of the exercise, breathing evenly and slowly at the same time. This helps to clear your mind and focus better, as well as ease neck pain.

Try Out the Child Pose

Stay on all fours for the next exercise. You want to do a yoga technique that is called the child’s pose. It helps to stretch the whole spine out, easing tension and improving posture. This is another excellent yoga exercise for reducing stress in your whole body and mind.

From all fours, move, so you are sitting on your feet, keeping your hands where they are. You’ll feel yourself stretching the whole back and shoulders out. Keep your head down towards the floor, helping to stretch the back of your neck out.

Hold the position for 30 seconds, while breathing naturally. Pull yourself back up into the all fours position and then repeat the child’s pose 10 times. You can hold the pose for longer if you would like.

If you have high blood pressure, you will want to avoid the child’s pose as it does lead to further blood pressure issues.

Switch Up to the Thunderbolt Exercise

You can develop on the child’s pose and do the thunderbolt exercise instead. This is an asymmetrical exercise that helps to stretch out one side of your neck, so you’ll want to alternate the side as you do it.

Start by kneeling up with your arms behind your back. Slowly drop forward with your body across your knees and head on the floor. Your head will need to turn to one side so it can lay flat. Keep your butt on your heels, so your butt is higher than your hips, and you keep a straight back.

Hold the position for 30 seconds to a minute and then return to a kneeling up position. You can finish off by lifting one arm up into the air when you straighten your whole back out and turn your head back to looking forward.

Try Out the Cobra Pose

It’s time to lay down flat on your front and try out the cobra pose. It’s another asymmetrical pose, so you’ll need to remember to do it on both sides to get the full benefit.

Start with your head turning one side as you lay down. Put your arms behind your back and then lift your chest off the ground. Look forward as you do this and bring one hand around to touch your forehead. You’ll feel the arm on your back and the stretch in your neck.

Lower to the ground, facing your head the opposite way you had it. Repeat this, but bringing the opposite hand to your forehead instead.

This is one that you need to remember you’re breathing on. It’s easy to hold your breath, but this causes more stress to build up in your body!

Hold the pose for if you can before be returning to the laying down position. The more often you do this, the easier you will find it to hold the pose for longer.

Lay Your Ear on Your Shoulder

It’s time to move into the sitting position for this exercise. Cross your legs and place your hands on your knees. Keep your back straight and really focus on stretching it out to support your alignment.

Keep the head facing forward, so your spine works straight up to the top of your neck. Tilt the head to one side, so your ear rests on your shoulder. You should feel the pull in the side of your neck up the other shoulder. Hold the position for 30 seconds.

It’s important not to force the ear actually to sit on your shoulder. You don’t want to pull the muscles in your neck but stretch them. Let the weight of your head ease the muscles out and unwind the knots.

Watch out for letting your head tilt forwards or backward. You run the risk of injuring your neck by stretching the wrong muscles out. You’ll know if you do this from where you feel the stretching of the neck muscles. The pull should be straight from your shoulder, across the top and then up into the ear.

You can develop this slightly once you get used to the position. With one arm, pull your head down gently, placing the other hand on your shoulder. This helps to deepen the stretch without causing injury.

Pull Your Arm Across Your Body

This asymmetrical pose is commonly used in cool-down exercises for those who train. It’s useful for stretching both the back and the neck, and something that you can do at work, at home, and even at the gym.

Remain sitting with your legs crossed and your spine straight. Pull one arm across the chest, keeping it straight and avoiding a twist in your back. Place your other arm either just below or just above your elbow—do not place it directly on the joint!

Squeeze your arm into your chest. You should feel the pull across your triceps and into your shoulder blade.

Turn your head in the opposite direction to the way your arm is stretched out as if you’re looking over that pulled out shoulder. You’ll feel the stretch in your neck as you do it.

Hold the position for 30 seconds and then return your arms to the side. Repeat this on the other side and keep doing this until you’ve done 10 repetitions on both sides.

Try Out the Corpse Pose

Okay, so this pose sounds a little morbid, but it is one of the best for stretching your neck and easing neck pain. No matter what you’ve done, you’ll be able to do this pose.

You simply lay on your back and remain there. You want your legs and arms outstretched, with a straight line running from your feet to the top of your head. The whole point is to focus on keeping the alignment in the spine.

Avoid crossing your legs at all, as this will just cause your spine to misalign while lying in the position.

If you find it painful on your lower back to lay like this, then you can put some support under your upper back. This helps to take some of the pressure off the tendons and arteries in your lower back.

Do not do this pose if you are pregnant. You shouldn’t lay on your back at all, especially in the second and third trimesters. There is an artery in your back that the baby can rest on when you lay on your back, causing problems for your blood flow.

When in this position, remain as still as possible. You want to remain like this for up to 15 minutes.

Place Your Legs Up on the Wall

This is a slight adaption to your corpse pose. You want to lay flat on your back but with your legs against the wall. It’s almost like you’re sitting on the wall!

Allow your arms to reach out to the sides and keep your face looking up at the ceiling. This helps to keep your neck in line with the rest of your spine.

You can support your lower back with the use of a rolled-up blanket under the arch. This is useful if you have a large arch in your back or suffer from any lower back pain.

Let your whole body relax while in this position. Focus on your breathing and remain like this for up to 10 minutes. If you start to feel numb in the legs, get out of the position and allow the blood flow to return to them.

Like the corpse pose, avoid this exercise if you are pregnant.

Do the Bridge Pose

Finally, it’s time to move onto the bridge pose. This involves you laying on your back. Plant your feet firmly on the floor about shoulder-width apart and place your hands on your hips for support.

Push your lower back and butt off the floor, so only your shoulders, head, hands, and feet remain in contact. You will feel your thigh muscles and core working to keep you in the position, as your upper back, shoulders, and neck are stretched and supported.

Hold the position for 30 seconds, keeping your chin tucked in. Lower down slowly and then take a 15-30 second break. Repeat the exercise 10 times.

You don’t want to move your feet while you’re in this pose, as that will disrupt your spinal alignment. Make sure you’re ready to move straight into the bridge. While in the bridge, keep a straight line from your chest to your knees.

Again, this is an exercise you shouldn’t do if you’re pregnant.

Work on Your Alignment

It’s important to focus on your spinal alignment, and you can do that by working on your posture. Think about the way you sit at work and how that can throw your spine out of line. When at your desk, keep both feet firm on the floor, sitting on the upper butt against the back of the chair. You can purchase supports to help protect the natural arch in your spine.

Get your computer so that the screen is at eye level. You shouldn’t have to tip your head forward or backward to see your screen. You also want your desk high to be just right for resting your arms on it. It’s also worth investing in cushioned rolls to support your wrists on the computer keyboard.

When standing, make sure you keep your shoulders back and your head up. Don’t walk looking down. Not only are you preventing yourself from seeing where you go when you look down, but you’re causing your neck to stretch in ways that are unnatural.

With better alignment and the above yoga poses, you will find that you ease off and relax the muscles. Your posture is improved, and you won’t suffer as much neck pain daily.

Each year, more than 150 million Americans (close to half of the US population) are going to deal with severe, debilitating, and downright devastating headaches – many of them of the migraine persuasion.

The overwhelming majority of folks are going to reach instantly for in over-the-counter or prescription grade medication promising to provide them with instant relief. But a lot of folks are waking up to the fact that these chemical concoctions have a significant and serious trade-off that you must make every single time you take them, and that you are always at the mercy of these chemicals and any side effects that they may cause along the way.

Nearly $1 billion each year are spent on migraine medications by the US population, and this number continues to grow on an annual basis thanks to the enormous amount of stress and pressure all of us are living on a day to day basis. And while many of the popular OTC and prescription drugs have proven to be effective at producing nearly instant results – albeit on a temporary basis – ALL of them involve significant side effects that can be potentially dangerous and even deadly.

Thankfully though, with just a little bit of research (and the help of the inside information in this quick guide) you’re going to be able to eliminate migraine headaches from your life once and for all without ever having to shake open one of those little pill bottles and crossing your fingers that your headache goes away and the side effects don’t kick in.

Each one of the seven quick home remedies to treat migraines that we outline below have been proven to be wonderfully effective at destroying the root source of migraines altogether while also providing you with instant (or nearly instant) relief at the exact same time.

Why aren’t they as popular as some of those chemical concoctions if they are so incredibly effective?

Well, a lot of it has to do with the fact that it’s difficult to patent and trademark these home remedies, and drug companies can’t make money off things you’re able to pull together all on your own. If there’s no money in it, companies are going to tell you that you’re wasting your time while pushing pills on you left and right.

The next time that you find yourself struggling with a migraine headache, though, try out any of these seven quick home remedies to relieve the pain, eliminating the headache, and stop these kinds of migraines from happening in the future.

Let’s dive right in!

The Next Time You Feel a Migraine Setting In, Pump Some Iron or Pound the Pavement

Even though medical researchers still aren’t quite sure of exactly what causes migraines in the first place, they have begun to understand the physiological changes that occur when migraines strike.

Migraines transform the way that the brain and nerve cells in your brain work, creating over stimulation that causes a tremendous amount of inflammation and swelling in your neck and brain. This inflammation and swelling increase pressure dramatically, and when that pressure rises you’re going to start to feel the pain really.

Thankfully, though, one of the easiest ways to minimize the negative impact of a migraine almost immediately is to relieve that pressure and pump your body full of dopamine and serotonin – two incredibly potent hormones that your body naturally produces during exercise.

Yes, you’re reading that correctly. The next time that you get a migraine and feel like your old is closing in on you, you want to push through the pain, pop out some push-ups, or go for a quick run. It’s the fastest way to slam the brakes on that migraine completely and provide yourself with the immediate relief you’re after.

Regular exercise (40 minutes a day, at least three times a week) – even moderate exercise – is plenty enough to trigger the endorphins you need to act as a buffer zone against migraines in the future. It doesn’t get much better than that, especially since you evil to enjoy a lot of other health boosting benefits as well.

Get Some Yogurt, Eggs, or Brussels Sprouts Into Your Body ASAP

Vitamin B2 (sometimes called riboflavin) is an incredibly important vitamin in the human body and one that you are going to want to make sure is flooded throughout your central nervous system on a routine basis.

In a recent clinical trial, 59% of individuals that consumed at least 400 mg of vitamin B2 every single day for three months noticed a dramatic decrease in migraine frequency, with many of these individuals reporting that they had absolutely no migraines whatsoever after ingesting this much be two on a routine basis.

Working to reduce the amount of inflammation in your body significantly (most specifically along your central nervous system and in your neck and brain), vitamin B2 stops the migraines from starting in the first place.

Eat a little bit of yogurt every day and supplement with eggs, asparagus, brussels sprouts, and spinach, and you’ll be able to avoid getting migraine headaches altogether.

Seafood Once a Week Keeps Migraines at Bay as Well

Study after study proves that eating seafood at least once a week is incredibly beneficial for your overall health and well-being, and a lot of that is linked to the magnesium that you get with these kinds of food choices.

It turns out that the overwhelming majority of adults (some researchers believe 75% of adults in the US alone) are incredibly deficient in magnesium, and that causes a cascade of serious issues in the body and the brain.

Because magnesium relaxes your nerves, relaxes your muscles, and creates a more streamlined neural network, having plenty of magnesium in your diet is going to keep you refreshed, healthy, sharp, and able to fight back against migraines.

By getting anywhere between 200 mg and 600 mg (or more) of magnesium into your diet, a handful of times each week – or in one big lump sum with an almost all seafood meal once a week – you’ll be to prevent migraines and relieve the pressure that they cause should they manifest.

Rub Your Temples with Thyme and Rosemary Infused Oils

No, this isn’t a Seinfeld reference (though Costanza once did try to proposition a woman to cover his bald head in oil – albeit for entirely different reasons altogether) but instead a legitimate solution for stopping migraines dead in their tracks and alleviating all the pressure in the that they are causing you.

This is an easy solution to get behind and one that you can make all on your own.

Gather fresh versions of these two herbs, rubbed them chunky against one another to activate they are oils, and then allow them to soak in a little bit of extra virgin olive oil overnight or even longer. Use this substance (just a couple of drops will do you well) whenever you start to feel a migraine coming on by rubbing the oil gently into your temples for about five minutes or so.

The oils release an ingredient known as carvacrol, a 100% all-natural substance that works just the same way that ibuprofen does without any of the negative side effects that this pharmaceutical brings to the table.

Soak Your Feet in Peppermint and Lavender

At first blush, you’re going to have a real tough time understanding how soaking your feet in height water infused with a few drops of peppermint and lavender oil can help you produce anti-migraine results – after all, your feet are just about as far away from your head as you can get on the human body and are anything but interconnected.

Or so it seems.

By soaking your feet in as hot of water as you can stand and then add a little bit of salt come a little bit of peppermint, and a little bit of lavender you are going to be to create a foot bath that dramatically lowers the amount of pressure that you’re dealing with in your head by causing blood to flow more rapidly to your lower extremities.

By pulling blood from your head down to your feet you’re able to blow off steam (figuratively, of course) in your brain, dramatically reducing the pain and pressure that you’re feeling from a migraine. The peppermint and lavender are going to act as soothing agents, relaxing you and helping you unwind along the way.

Use a Good Old-Fashioned Cold Compress on the Back of Your Neck and Noggin

Reducing inflammation is the name of the game when it comes time to treat a migraine situation effectively.

While all of the different solutions we mentioned above are going to do wonders to reduce the amount of inflammation that you’re dealing with when a migraine kicks in, the traditional approach for reducing inflammation anywhere in the body – applying ice in the form of a cold compress or an ice pack – is going to work wonders and will begin settling down that inflammation almost instantly.

All you have to do is pop a fresh icepack out of the freezer or create your own with a plastic bag and some ice cubes. Wrap the entire icepack in a towel to prevent cold burns on your skin, and then apply the entire set up to the back of your neck and your noggin to begin reducing inflammation instantaneously.

Apply the icepack for anywhere between 10 and 15 minutes at a time before taking a break for five minutes, reapplying again for a 10 to 15-minute stretch as necessary to eliminate inflammation and to improve circulation.

Spicy Foods Can Settle You Down, Too

Believe it or not, eating spicy foods – if you’re into that kind of thing – can calm a migraine down in a hurry, so much so that you might not ever find yourself reaching for a bottle of ibuprofen ever again in the future.

The overwhelming majority of spicy foods out there take advantage of cayenne pepper or cayenne pepper flakes (or something similar), and it’s the capsaicin in the spicy foods that works as a natural painkiller.

Stimulating circulation, improving blood flow, and boosting your body’s ability to fight back against a migraine naturally, this approach (chowing down on spicy foods) can settle down your migraine in about 15 minutes.

If you really want to jack up the effectiveness of spicy foods in their battle against migraines, add a little bit of lemon juice to your food and watch as this touch of acid supercharges your results. It really doesn’t get much better than this, especially if you’re a big fan of spicy food already!

Closing Thoughts

At the end of the day, there are plenty of different approaches that are going to help you produce game-changing results when it comes to all naturally curing the migraines that you’re dealing with.

Some of them are going to work better than others (depending upon your own unique biochemistry), so make sure that you try out as many of these seven quick home remedies for treating migraines that we mentioned above as you can to find the ones that are most effective for you.

Of course, you’ll want to make sure that you have some ibuprofen on hand in case these migraines are incredibly severe and you need to supplement the effectiveness of these approaches. It’s also not a bad idea to talk to a doctor if you’re dealing with constant, chronic, or incredibly debilitating migraines (the kind that can mess with your vision or even cause you to pass out), as they may be signs of a much more serious – and possibly even potentially deadly – underlying condition.

Armed with the inside information above and just a little bit of good old-fashioned common sense you shouldn’t have anything to worry about when it comes time to kick migraines to the curb once and for all.

You have most “felt the burn”.

Anyone that’s ever pushed themselves through a grueling workout (including first-timers to the gym and those that have recently discovered the fun of sports for the first time out) know exactly what it’s like to feel a little bit tired come a little bit rundown come in a little bit fatigued immediately after the workout, only to wake up the very next day with almost no control over your muscles and feeling like you had been hit by a tractor-trailer.

Muscle soreness is incredibly debilitating when you decide to push yourself past when you once thought were physical limitations, and athletes must make sure that they do absolutely everything they can to reduce the amount of muscle soreness they get from working out so that they are ready to get right back after it during their next training session.

“Regular folks” also must be able to banish as much muscle soreness from their lives as possible, as there’s no way that you want to have to duck walk into work after leg day!

Most people do their very best to just “grin and bear it” when it comes to fighting muscle soreness, just excepting that without pain there isn’t any gain or something like that. Truth be told though, there are plenty of different things you’re going to be able to do to eliminate as much after workout muscle soreness as humanly possible – and most of these approaches are simple, straightforward, and effortless to put into action.

All you must do is check out the inside information we have for you in this quick guide, implement as many of these approaches into your daily workout as possible, and before you know it (almost immediately, as a matter of fact) you’ll no longer be struggling with debilitating and crippling muscle soreness any longer.

It really doesn’t get much better than that now does it?

Let’s dive right in!

Pre-Workout Solutions that Work

Believe it or not, the most effective way to make sure that you don’t wake up the next day after your workout with a tremendous amount of stiffness and soreness has as much to do with what you do to your body BEFORE your workout as you do AFTERWARDS.

Hydration is mission number one, as you want to make sure that your body is flooded with as much water as it needs to make the most of your training protocol. The overwhelming majority of folks out there today are walking around in a state of dehydration without even knowing it. We just don’t drink as much water as we used to come instead opting to pound coffee, soda, juice, and energy drinks.

By hydrating your body with nothing but good old-fashioned H2O you’re not only going to provide your body with plenty of water and fuel to get through tough for accounts, but you’re also going to keep your body cool and fight off inflammation, make it easy to shuttle protein and other critical nutrients to your target muscles, and flush out toxins that would otherwise stiffen your muscles and cause you significant pain.

After you have taken care of the hydration part of your pre-workout it’s time to stretch, stretch, stretch.

Elite athletes understand just how valuable stretching can be when it comes time to fight back against injury and soreness, but a lot of “weekend warriors” and fitness into serious don’t stretch anywhere near as much as they could or should.

By stretching your body for as much as 20 minutes before you start to warm up and work out you’re going to be able to create a much more pliable muscular structure them the one you would have been working with otherwise. These muscles are going to be much more elastic, much more flexible, and capable of reacting to the stress and pressure of intense workouts a lot easier than those that don’t get stretched nearly as much.

You’ll also be able to increase the capacity of oxygen and protein your muscles can handle, to critical components of rebuilding muscles immediately after a workout while also improving strength and endurance along the way.

It’s also a good idea to stretch after your workout (immediately after your workout), but we’ll get into that in just a little bit.

The last thing you’ll need to do during your pre-workout phase to fight off muscle soreness as much as possible is to go through some light exercises designed to warm your body out. The warm-up should be conducted immediately after stretching, when your body is at its most pliable and flexible, and you want to go through at least five minutes of 50% loads to really zap your muscles and wake them up.

Hammering cold muscles with a full load and high intensity is going to risk injury, but it’s also going to pour a tremendous number of hormones and biochemical into these target muscle groups. When that happens, your muscles will get that all too familiar “pump” so many are after, but you’ll also limit their motion, capacity, and ability to continue to work out.

Always (ALWAYS) go through a warm-up routine before you dive right in to the heavy lifting – no pun intended.

Treat Your Body Right Post Workout and You Won’t Have to Deal with Nearly as Much Soreness Going Forward

After blasting your body as much as you can possibly manage with a targeted training program you’re going to want to start to fight back against muscle inflammation and muscle soreness immediately after your training protocol has concluded.

Go through your traditional cold down (five or 10 minutes to relax your body and unwind from the stress that you have triggered) and then go through a similar stretching routine as your pre-workout routine that targets all the major muscle groups you hammered during your workout.

Integrate some yoga movements into your post workout stretching, and make sure that you do as many “hanging” movements (flex arm hang, reverse hang, “Batcave” hang, etc.) as you can while holding on for if you’re able to to really give your muscles and effective stretch and you work out as much of that inflammation as possible.

No, you aren’t going to feel like a million bucks at the end of your workout – especially if it was aggressive and effective – but you’re going to need to push through stretching progression if you are going to be serious about avoiding muscle soreness in the future.

Now is also a great time to get your hydration levels back out. You’re going to be running close to empty thanks to the sweat that you have been pumping out, so that means you’re not only going to need to hydrate with water you’re also going to need to get salt, potassium, proteins, and electrolytes back into your body rather quickly.

Post workout beverages do a fantastic job and recharging your batteries so that your body can focus on recovery and not replenishing your critical stores of these important elements, but even just drinking a little bit of lemon juice mixed into warm saltwater will give you a big bump in performance and avoid a lot of muscle soreness as well.

Throw in a Scoop or Two of Protein Powder and You’ll be On the Road to Recovery in a Hurry!

Obviously, there are plenty of other post workout options you must squeeze out as much information as possible including special post workout meals and snacks, taking a nice hot shower in the gym and another one later that day, and stretching out as much as possible throughout the day after your workout.

But the post workout approaches above are going to do the overwhelming majority of the heavy lifting for you when it comes to fighting off muscle soreness.

Fall in Love with Compression Gear and Ice Baths

Compression gear (the kind of athletic clothing that turned Under Armor into one of the world’s biggest sporting goods companies in record time) has been proven to be tremendously effective at pushing back against inflammation, keeping your muscles warm and circulation moving, and giving you a buffer zone against muscle soreness that you just don’t get when you aren’t wearing this kind of gear.

You’ll need to make sure that you choose compression fitness equipment that’s going to fit your body snugly without cutting off circulation (that’s counterproductive for sure), but as far as the fit, style, and color is concerned you can mix and match just as much as you like so long as it gets the job done for you.

Make sure that you are wearing your compression gear at least 30 minutes before you go to work out, all the way through your workouts, and for at least one hour after your workout has finished. This will provide you with the most benefits when it comes to fighting back against inflammation and soreness, so try to stick to these timelines as much as you’re able to.

If you can stand an ice bath in conjunction with your compression gear (even going so far as to lower yourself into an ice bath with your compression gear on) you’re going to be in a great place when it comes to fighting back against muscle soreness.

Cold is a game changer went comes to eliminating inflammation, and though you could certainly wrap yourself in ice packs the way that starting pitchers in the major leagues do, sinking yourself into an ice bath – even for just five minutes at a time – can really improve your circulation, press back against inflammation, and all but wiped out muscle soreness altogether.

It isn’t exactly going to be the most fun five minutes you ever have hoped their especially if you are into used to this kind of approach) but it’s going to be effective.

If you need to ease yourself into this kind of approach that might not be a bad idea to start off with hot showers that finish with one or two minutes of cold water and only cold water to get you warmed up to the prospect of an ice pack.

Over-the-Counter Drugs Really Work to Cut Back on Muscle Soreness

The right over-the-counter (OTC) medications used correctly – and intelligently – can fight back against muscle soreness in a way that few other approaches can.

Acetaminophen, naproxen sodium, capsaicin cream, and other over-the-counter medications all work in conjunction with one another to provide you with a lot of extra muscle soreness relief you might not have enjoyed any other way.

When combined with a lot of the different approaches mentioned above you’re going to be able to jump start your fight against muscle soreness but you’re also going to be able to enjoy much better results than if you’ve only tried one or two of these approaches on their own.

As always, make sure that you are healthy enough to take advantage of these over-the-counter medications. May not be a bad idea to run these kinds of medicines past your doctor just to make sure that you aren’t at risk using them to eliminate muscle soreness.

Get Plenty of Sleep

There are few things as powerful that slowing down muscle soreness, improving muscular recovery, and rebuilding your body than getting plenty of high quality sleep each single night.

Most people aren’t getting anywhere near eight hours of sleep each night, and those that do aren’t getting high quality sleep because they are too stressed out, tossing and turning, and fighting sleep every step of the way.

To improve your athletic ability, to speed up your ability to recover from tough workouts, and to boost your mental and physical health across the board try to get yourself eight hours of consistent sleep every night.

Upgrade your bed, your sheets, and your blankets, keep the room nice and cool and free of electronic screens, and play white noise in the background to send you to visit the Sandman in a hurry so that you don’t have to wake up with muscles that are almost impossible to move in the morning.

If you have ever had to deal with debilitating sinus pain and pressure stemming from a sinus infection, you know exactly how miserable life is for millions and millions of Americans (and hundreds of millions of people around the world) that must deal with a sinus infection daily.

Sure, there are some medical solutions available to those that wants to go in that direction to relieve the pressure and eliminate these symptoms. Unfortunately, the overwhelming majority of those solutions involve ingesting potent chemicals with some nasty potential side effects on a regular basis or going through dangerous and expensive surgery that may not provide a permanent solution at the end of the day.

Obviously, you need to be sure that you know exactly what you’re doing what it comes time to eliminate your sinus infection in a hurry, and you need to do so without turning to potentially dangerous “solutions” that they, not the cable of helping you on a permanent basis anyway.

Thankfully, with the help of the inside information that we are able to offer you below you’re going to learn EXACTLY how to prepare homemade sinus relief solutions that work instantly, are proven to be completely safe, and can be created on your own immediately on demand so that you have solutions on hand no matter what.

Not only are we going to outline all those kinds of solutions below, but we are also going to show you quite a few homemade sinus relief options that help you prevent sinus infections from happening in the first place. By preventing your sinus infections from rearing their ugly head in the first place you don’t have to worry about curing them later down the line – and that means that you don’t have to worry about the pain that they can create for you.

It really doesn’t get much better than that!

So, sit back, relax, and leverage all the tips and tricks that we are happy to share with you below.

Proven Effective Homemade Sinus Relief Treatment Solutions

Probably one of the most proven to be effective solutions for clearing up a sinus infection, simply flushing your nasal passage – with warm saline or with another medicated liquid – can open you up in a way that you wouldn’t have even thought possible before, especially if you have been dealing with congested sinuses for some time.

All you have to do is get your hands on a netti pot (sold online as well as patent most pharmacies and department stores today), fill it up with warm – but not hot – saline, salted water, whole or liquid medications available from your doctor or over-the-counter and then rinse out both of your nostrils while standing over a sink or standing in the tub/shower.

This kind of nasal flush solution is going to wash away all of that excess mucus thattends toreally bind up inside your nasal passages, contributing significantly to the sinus infection symptoms that you are struggling with, to begin with. Saline washes have been clinically proven to be effective and are considered the ultimate in first-line defense for those that are dealing with building pressure from a sinus infection.

Another great home approach to eliminating sinus infections is to create your own sauna in your bathroom, running the water from your shower just as hot as humanly possible (without having to stand directly under the flow of water) and making sure that you trap as much steam into your bathroom as you can.

The steam that you breathe in through your nose is going to work to release a lot of that mucus and to calm down the information that you’re dealing with, and any extra debris is going to be gently released from your nasal passages as well. You’ll have to blow your nose a couple of times to really get the nasal passages open, but the steam will do all the heavy liftings for you.

A great way to dramatically improve the impact of steaming your nose open is to sprinkle just a few drops of eucalyptus or menthol on your hands and then rubbed them just below your nose but not inside of it. Breathe those essential oils in a while your shower is running cold blast in the steam is starting to build and you’ll be breathing better than you ever have before in absolutely no time whatsoever.

Bromelain is an over the counter supplement is proven to be tremendously effective at opening of the nasal passages, so much so that it has been used for decades now by those in the fighting industry (boxing as well as mixed martial arts) to reduce swelling and open up the nasal passages of those that have been hit right on the buzzer in the middle of a prizefight.

You are going to have to check with your doctor before you decide to take advantage of bromelain, however, as it may or may not cause any kinds of conflict with medications that you are already taking. All homemade solutions to eliminating sinus infections should be safer than the prescription grade medical approaches, and this is what you’re going to want to clear up with your physician before you dive right in.

Staying hydrated is always a good idea in general for those that want to make sure that they are just as healthy as can be, but staying hydrated and drinking plenty of water daily is also going to help you keep your sinuses moist. You need to drink at least 8-ounce glasses of water eight times a day (which can be on top of any soda, coffee, or alcohol that you consume) to keep your body perfectly hydrated and your sinuses free and clear of significant issues.

Spicy foods, believe it or not, have been clinically proven to dramatically open your sinuses – which is probably something that you have noticed after you have eaten hot wings or any other really (REALLY) spicy food. The capsaicin in these foods is one goes to work on your sinuses, opening them up dramatically so that you can breathe easy no matter what.

An Ounce of Prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure

It is of critical importance that you take the time to do absolutely everything in your power to prevent yourself from having to deal with a sinus infection in the first place, combining prevention with the cures that we have already mentioned above.

A proven to be an effective solution for preventing sinus infections is to run a humidifier in your home (and especially in your bedroom) each single night so that you can breeze clean, moist, and healthy air on a regular basis. The extra humidity is going to boost your ability to breathe through your sinuses, but it’s going to have a variety of other beneficial health impacts on your body as well.

Allergies and Allergens are probably the single largest cause of sinus infections, which is why you need to allergy-proof your home as much as you possibly can. You’ll want to vacuum your home on a regular basis to clear up dirt, dust, and debris, but it’s also not a bad idea to invest in a high-quality air filtration system and to upgrade your sheets and blankets to take advantage of materials that are hypoallergenic.

Pet dander can be really difficult to deal with, so take the time to purchase a vacuum cleaner that has been scientifically designed and engineered to take care of pet hair and dander wherever it may be found in your home. You’ll also want to my routinely, open your windows and refresh stale air when the allergy index is low, and even purchase air ionizers to make sure that your air is just as clean and as healthy as it can be.

Using a warm compress applied directly to your nose daily can be a great way to keep your nasal passage of a loose and up. All you must do is run a little bit of warm tap water all over a washcloth and then place it on your nose, completely covering your nasal passages so that you must breathe through the compress and pulling all that superheated air.

These are all going to go a long way towards improving your health, and these approaches have been clinically proven to effectively reduce the kinds of sinus infections that you have been dealing with.

Closing Thoughts

Improving your immune system is one of the most beneficial things you can do as a rule when you’re looking to get healthier, but this kind of approach is certainly going to give you a real boost when it’s time to clear up your sinuses.

A lot of folks have absolutely no idea about how their immune system is doing on a day to day basis, but it’s reasonable for Americans to understand that they probably aren’t anywhere near as healthy as they could or should be.

By improving your immune system using targeted herbs and all-natural supplements, including supplements like vitamin D and a proven to be a useful multivitamin, you’ll be able to fight back against infection in your sinuses and across the rest of your body as well.

It’s also not a bad idea to get eight hours of quality sleep each and every night, and if you have the ability to you’ll want to be sure that you get 60 minutes of exercise at least four times each week and do all you can to eat as healthy a diet as is reasonably possible.

Armed with all the inside information that we have many to share with you about you really shouldn’t have any trouble whatsoever knocking it out of the park as far as clearing out sinus issues with homegrown approaches is concerned.

You may need to speak with your doctor if your sinus infections are constant, chronic, or the very serious, and obviously you’ll want to take advantage of all the medical information in next Matisse that they are able to pass along to help you get rid of this condition without jeopardizing your short or long term health.

After all, the whole reason for taking advantage of these all-natural and home remedies is so that you don’t have to worry about the potentially negative side effects that often arise from modern medical solutions today.

There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to push forward with chemical concoction prescription medications that are both ridiculously expensive and potentially dangerous (or even deadly) when there are perfectly acceptable and proven to be effective home remedies available.

At the same time, you may be dealing with a variety of different underlying medical conditions that create these kinds of sinus infection symptoms through absolutely no fault of your own or the environment. Surgery for a deviated septum has cleared up significant sinus infections in the past.

Though most people aren’t all that excited about diving headfirst into the world of surgery (especially one that involves literally drilling into your nasal passages so closely to your brain), sometimes this is exactly the kind of approach that will provide the lifelong results and permanent solutions you’re after.

But only ever elect to take advantage of modern medicine approaches AFTER you have done your level best to make the most of the homemade sinus relief solutions that we have broken down for you about. Utilize these approaches exactly as we have outlined and with a good old-fashioned common sense approach and you won’t have anything whatsoever to worry about when it comes to avoiding side effects while improving your breathing and well-being all at the exact same time.

It is possible to overcome sinus infections without turning to modern medicine finally, and all the tips and tricks about will help you do exactly that!

Gingivitis may be improved or eliminated via proper oral care. It’s defined as gum inflammation, and it’s the starting phase of gum disease. Since it is the initial phase of gum disease, it’s simple to treat. Gingivitis is triggered by the accumulation of plaque. The plaque has no color, and it has a sticky and soft texture. It’s made up of germs, and it’s always forming on the gums, as well as on the teeth.

It’s possible to remove quite a bit of plaque via brushing and flossing, and it’s recommended that you brush and floss after each meal. Some plaque may remain. When it does remain, it will create toxins which cause gum tissue irritation. If gingivitis is addressed early, it is reversible, which means that the bones and connective tissue in the mouth haven’t yet been negatively impacted by gum inflammation.

A dentist is the best person to see for professional and effective plaque removal. He or she will use special tools and processes which get rid of the plaque which wasn’t removed by flossing and brushing.

If this oral health issue is not treated, it may progress. Gingivitis may turn into periodontitis, which has the power to do irreversible damage to jaws and teeth.

Discover the Symptoms of Gingivitis

People who are suffering from gingivitis typically experience gum redness, swelling and tenderness. As well, their gums may bleed while they are brushing their teeth. Another characteristic of gum disease is receding gums or gums which have moved away from the teeth.

Receding gums and moved gums tend to give affected teeth a longer-than-normal look. As well, gum disease has the power to cause pocket formation between gums and teeth. Food and germs may accumulate in the pockets. This may cause chronic bad breath and unpleasant tastes in the mouth, even when gingivitis isn’t in its later stages.

Now that we’ve talked about what gingivitis is and what its symptoms are, we’d like to spend some time talking about the best self-care routines for reversing gingivitis.

Our guide is designed to promote proper oral care. We’ll detail the best over-the-counter remedies, as well as the most impressive alternative remedies. By giving you options and choices, we’ll make it easier for you to find a regimen which suits your schedule, preferences, and budget.

Aside from following a self-care regimen for gingivitis treatment, we recommend seeing your dentist regularly for check-ups and cleaning. When you do learn to care for your gums properly, you’ll prevent gum damage, and you may also be able to prevent cavities.

Over-the-Counter Options

One option is to switch to toothpaste which is specially designed to combat this gum health issue. To help you out, we’ll list some examples here. However, we’re not affiliated with any companies, and we aren’t promoting any specific products here today.

One option is Colgate Total Advanced Deep Clean. It’s designed to battle bacteria for a full twelve hours, and it also inhibits the growth of plaque. This good-tasting, minty toothpaste will also fight tartar and its renowned as a preventative treatment for gingivitis. Colgate’s experts recommend that you utilize the toothpaste two times per day to access twenty-four protection.

Another popular over-the-counter treatment for Gingivitis is Crest Pro-Health Advanced Toothpaste. It’s fortified with stannous fluoride which is stabilized, and this active ingredient is known to promote better gum health. This toothpaste will also assist with the prevention of cavities. It’s the Crest brand’s most effective toothpaste regarding helping people to prevent or ease gingivitis symptoms.

When using these toothpaste or other anti-gingivitis toothpaste, be sure to brush at least twice per day (in the morning and evening). Also, don’t brush right after you eat. Some foods contain acids which make teeth softer. It’s better to wait a bit and then brush.

Most people brush three times a day, sometime after they eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. However, it’s most important to brush in the a.m. and at night, and most dentists think that this is enough for gingivitis care, along with flossing and regular cleanings at the dentist.

If you enjoy using mouthwash, you should know that there are mouthwashes which are designed to help battle gingivitis. They are antibacterial, so they kill germs and help to freshen breath. One choice which is widely available is Colgate Total Advanced Pro-Shield. It kills germs as soon as it meets them and reduces plaque levels in the mouth for up to twelve hours. This means that it stops the bacteria that trigger gingivitis for a relatively long time.

When used daily, it’s another layer of defense against gingivitis. This mouthwash is free of alcohol.

There are other mouthwashes of this type out there. If you don’t opt for the Colgate formula that we’ve just discussed, it’s probably best to choose another one that doesn’t contain alcohol. If your mouth tends to get dry, alcohol, which does kill germs, may make it drier.

If you prefer to avoid alcohol, you’ll find that there are a lot of alcohol-free mouthwashes on the market which also help to prevent gingivitis. Another one to consider is Listerine Zero Mouthwash, which is loaded with essential oils that kill millions of bacteria. Since it offers the ultimate in deep cleaning, without alcohol, it will help to prevent gingivitis as it banishes bad breath.

Also, look for high-quality dental floss which doesn’t get caught in teeth. When dental floss is well-made, it’s easier to use and easier on teeth and gums. The truth is that almost any brand with a decent reputation will get the job done. It’s the act of flossing which helps to remove plaque and germs which are found between the teeth. However, some brands have added perks, such as mint flavoring, easy-glide performance and so on.

One dentist-recommended dental floss is Oral-B Glide Pro-health Cool Mint. It tastes great, is comfortable to use, and it’s quite durable, so you probably won’t have to deal with as many shredded pieces of floss! As well, it offers good grip and isn’t too expensive. It’s a good choice because it gets into tight spaces easily. It smells and tastes like mint and features a micro-textured surface which helps it to grab more debris from between each tooth.

Some floss can be a little rough on gums. If you have gingivitis, your gums may already be in a sensitive condition. When you use Johnson & Johnson Listerine Gentle Gum Care (Mint), you’ll find that it offers very gentle performance, while still battling the plaque which triggers gingivitis. It’s an affordable floss which is woven, and it’s designed especially for those who need gentle gum care.

If you want extra-strength remedies, talk to your dentist. There are prescription-strength formulas, such as mouth rinses for gingivitis, which are quite potent and effective. Most people will find that using some of the over-the-counter remedies that we’ve talked about here today, and getting regular cleanings at the dentist, is enough to stop gingivitis or improve it greatly.

However, we wanted to let you know that there are prescription-grade treatments also (aside from typical dental cleanings). Your dentist will know whether they are necessary and right for you.

How that we’ve talked about some plaque-fighting toothpaste, mouthwashes, and dental flosses, let’s move forward by talking about some interesting alternative remedies for gingivitis.

Are Alternative Remedies Right for You?

It’s possible to access effective gingivitis care via home remedies. These alternative remedies are often extremely affordable. If you’re on a shoestring budget or love trying remedies which are not as conventional as commercial products are, you’ll benefit from discovering some easy and cheap alternative remedies for gum inflammation.

For example, the juice of one fresh lemon may be made into a rinse which kills germs and eases inflammation. As well, lemons are loaded with vitamin C, which battles infections. To try this remedy, add the juice of one lemon to an eight-ounce glass of water. Make sure that the water is warm. Use it as a mouthwash after you’re doing brushing. Since lemons don’t contain any lab-created chemicals, like many commercial dental care products, do, they offer the purest care.

Also, you shouldn’t need to spend too much for a lemon!

Another option is oil pulling. It’s trendy these days, and it’s a process which will help you to heal inflamed and reddened gums. It may even be able to reverse gingivitis. When you perform, oil pulling, you will swish a natural oil around in your mouth for a relatively long time and the oil will “pull” out toxic substances from the mouth and the gums. It’ll help to get rid of plaque.

Clinical studies have verified the power of oil-pulling, so it’s something that you should consider if you’re into alternative therapies. We recommend using an oil which is totally organic, such as coconut oil or sesame oil. Olive oil will also work. Most people swish for several minutes, such as ten or fifteen minutes.

If you want a natural and alternative way to kill germs and improve gum health, you’ll find that using Mustard Oil is a good holistic treatment. It’s been utilized for centuries. The oil is known for its antibacterial and gum-healing properties. It’s also a mild pain reliever so it will soothe inflamed gums.

To use Mustard Oil, add a teaspoon of the oil to a 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Then, rub your gums gently with the mixture, for about five minutes. Perform this ritual two times per day. If you don’t want to use Mustard Oil, you’ll find that substituting Clove Oil or Tea Tree Oil works well. They are both known to help people who have gingivitis.

Supplements are also a good way to improve gum health from the inside out. For example, taking two thousand milligrams of vitamin C every say should help to promote stronger gums and the growth of new and healthy gum tissue. As well, some people take Coenzyme Q10 to improve gum health and reduce the symptoms of gingivitis.

Lastly, you’ll find that adding green tea to your daily diet is a great way to battle gingivitis. However, the tea should always be natural and unsweetened. Drink one to three cups of the tea daily to access its polyphenols. These active ingredients are found in green tea, and they help to kill germs and restore gum health.

Allergies come with all sorts of symptoms and in varying severities. For some of us, it means a slight irritation or small rash that appears. We can have some swelling and minor discomfort. Others can experience major swelling, pain, and life-threatening symptoms.

It seems there are allergies to almost everything in the world. While peanuts and nuts (peanuts are legumes, remember) are the most common, gluten, dairy, soy, and wheat are now heard of on a regular basis. Allergies have become so much of a problem that schools are banning certain products and workplaces ask their employees to think about the type of products they bring for snacks and lunches.

Some of the allergies can be difficult to work around. Airlines must ban all peanuts because of the severity for some people. Just breathing in the scent of peanuts can set allergies off.

But why do we have these problems? Just where do the most extreme allergies come from? The more we understand, the more we can work around the allergies and the symptoms.

Here’s a look at what causes extreme allergies and what you can do about them.

Scientists Don’t Have All the Answers

If I’m completely honest, scientists just don’t know the answers. They have no idea why some people suffer from allergies more than others and why some of the symptoms are far more serious. In fact, scientists don’t completely understand why some people even suffer from allergies in the first place!

It doesn’t make it easy when we’re all different, and we all have some different symptoms. Some people will come out in rashes on the skin, while others experience swelling. And to make it even harder, some of us outgrow our allergies! It’s been regularly noted that children can overcome certain allergies, especially dairy and soy allergies!

There are others who will find age leads to worse symptoms. Some adults will even notice allergies that they didn’t have as a child.

With everyone being so different, it’s understandable why scientists and researchers struggle so much. They never get the same results in studies, and there are just so many allergic reactions that can appear. Plus, some of the tests would be inhumane and immoral. Is it worth putting someone at risk by setting off an allergic reaction to test the symptoms and severity?

There are just so many limitations in research that mean results just cannot be trusted in full. Researchers must look at past reports, which may not have the full details for various reasons!

The Reason Allergies Occur

One thing that researchers do agree on is the reason for allergies to occur. It’s not that the food or items are harmful to the body. The problem is the immune system thinks that the items are dangerous.

Our immune systems create the antibodies to fight against what they perceive as threats. This leads to swelling and irritation to fight against the actual non-harmful entities.

The allergy symptoms that you get are side effects of the immune system thinking it must do some work. It really doesn’t, but there’s no way that you can train the immune system to stop. This leads us onto the next problem.

Most Allergies Get Worse with Frequent Exposure

On the other hand, allergies can get worse over time. There will be people who had mild symptoms as a child and now can’t go anywhere near certain products as an adult. As people get more exposure to a certain item they’re allergic to, the symptoms get worse. What used to be a mild irritation turns into life-threatening symptoms. This is especially common with a bee sting or latex allergies.

More exposure meaning worsening symptoms does make sense. The body starts to get used to the antihistamines released to fight against the body’s reaction to the food or item. Think of the allergy as bacteria and the antihistamines as antibiotics. Eventually, the bacteria become resistant to antibiotics, and more are needed. In the case of allergies, more antihistamines are needed and eventually drugs to prevent and hold back allergies just don’t work.

Remember that your immune system thinks that the innocent items and food are dangerous. More exposure means that your body must work harder to “fight the infection.” More antibodies are released, so you end up with more symptoms as the antibodies get to work. The items linger because the immune system isn’t working on anything and that leads to more antibodies being released.

Your immune system will also become sensitive to the item that you’re allergic to. It will react to even the slightest exposure. Scientists believe that this is one of the biggest reasons for extreme allergies. Just the slightly breathing of vapours from a certain food can trigger the immune system to set off the antibodies to fight the non-existent infection.

There is nothing that we can do to prevent this. The only option we have is to avoid exposure to the “toxin.” This can be almost impossible in some situations.

Schools have tried to ban certain items, but parents of those not affected by allergies complain. They don’t realise that the symptoms get worse and antihistamines and epi-pens don’t always work!

Some Allergies Seem to Be Genetic

As more research is conducted, scientists have noticed that there is a genetic element. Children who have parents allergic to items have a higher chance of being allergic to that same item. Those with two parents with allergies have a much higher probability of being allergic to something in their lifetime.

The allergies can also be worse in children. This could be because of the immune system effect being passed on or because of exposure during pregnancy. This is a type of research that scientists are still considering, but it is very difficult to find out all the reasons.

However, genetics is not the only reason. There are some parents who have no allergies at all, but their children have allergic reactions to various types of foods. Some will be allergic to shellfish and seafood while others are allergic to dairy, eggs, and more.

Some parents will be allergic to one item, but then the children are allergic to others. There doesn’t seem to be a complete rhyme or reason to the genetic element.

Allergies Can Develop in the Future

A child may not have an allergy at all. It’s only in adulthood that allergies are noticed. This can be common with wheat, gluten, and lactose. Hay fever is another that can develop in adulthood.

Doctors believe that it is the continued exposure to the allergen. The immune system didn’t initially notice it as a dangerous item, but over time it is viewed as a toxin. After a decade or so of repeated exposure, the body starts to fight off the “infection”, and that leads to the allergy side effects.

When you get a later exposure to the item, the immune system is ready with the antibodies to attack. The more exposure you get, the worse your symptoms will become.

At first, there may be a tipping point for the allergic reaction to kick in. The body may be able to deal with two eggs for example but then react when you have a third. Your body may be able to deal with a small amount of milk, but two or three glasses will cause stomach cramps and swell in the body.

There is no way of predicting how an allergic reaction will affect you and whether it can be stopped later. Doctors recommend that you cut out anything that triggers your allergies instead.

Some Dietitians Blame Modern Day Processes

There were no reports of allergies in the Palaeolithic era. They only started when agriculture became a popular way to create food for mass production. This has led to many gains the theory that modern-day processes, chemicals, and pesticides are the reason for the growth in allergic reactions.

It can certainly make sense. There are more toxins in the air that the immune system now struggles to tell the difference between something healthy and different and something dangerous. It’s best for the immune system to act on the side of caution rather than risking death, right? Of course, this can get annoying, but it does explain the sudden increase in allergies.

The argument against this is that we don’t fully know about allergies in the Palaeolithic era. For all we know, there were allergic reactions. However, people didn’t live long enough, and the era is that long ago that we don’t have any way of testing for this. There is also the problem of no medical records.

There may have been allergic reactions that we’re just missing because of the lack of information. There’s also no proof that it has just been the chemicals, gluten, etc. that have caused the allergic reactions to things like bee stings, insect bites, and more. Like everything else, more research is needed to see just how changes could have caused more allergens in the world.

What You Can Do to Prevent Allergies

If you have an allergy, you will need to take steps to prevent the symptoms. While there are some treatments available, not all of them, work properly. This is because we are all different. Medicines can only be created for the average person and in some cases, are strong enough just to minimise the symptoms and not completely get rid of them.

Doctors will recommend that you avoid the allergens. This is the only way to guarantee that you won’t have any symptoms at all. More exposure could mean that glass of milk you once could tolerate is now something that sets off your allergies! You won’t know before you have it, which means you could put your health and life at risk.

It can be difficult to avoid everything. You can’t control what other people have around you. If your allergy is that severe, you will need to look out for ways that you can limit that type of exposure. Talk to your boss or your child’s school principal about methods to take when you’re out of the house when that severe.

But what about dust, mould, and other common, everyday allergens? Most these aren’t things you can avoid. The good news is that the body won’t usually have a severe reaction to these. We all tend to have allergic reactions to these items, but the body knows how to work against them without setting off the antibodies.

Why? Well,it’s another thing that researchers are considering. It is likely because these are elements that have been around from the beginning of time. Pet dander and pollen are common problems that may get worse over time, though!

If you do have pollen allergies, you may also find that you have allergies to foods that have similar make-ups. This is due to the cell structure, which confuses the immune system. You’ll need to avoid these if they cause an allergic reaction.

Take Steps Today to Avoid Severe Allergic Reactions

There is still a lot of research needed into allergies and the reasons behind the severe reactions. Chronic allergy symptoms are noted around the world. It’s not just the western cultures with the chemicals and pesticides, although there are more reported cases of allergies.

Unfortunately, there is little that you can do to stop the allergies from occurring. The symptoms are side effects of the way your immune system reacts to food and items you have. Your immune system believes the allergens are a danger to you and stop them from hurting you, even if they are completely innocent.

The best thing you can do is avoid all contact with the items you’re allergic to. It won’t be easy, but you do take the best step to avoid severe allergic reactions. Even if you have mild symptoms now, repeated exposure will make your reactions worse, so you will want to avoid them as much as possible right now.

Sore muscles are no laughing matter, especially when you have important things to do. While drug manufacturers would have you clamoring to your nearest pharmacy to pick up the biggest bottle of pain medicine on the shelves, it’s safe to say that modern medicine is still no match for the healing powers of nature. To many times, people get stuck on the vicious cycle of popping a pill for every ill, only to wind up with more problems in the end. There’s got to be a better way.

A Quick Note about Alternatives to Medication

Seeing a doctor can be very expensive, and when the issue is only a few sore muscles it makes no sense to spend that kind of money. Self-medication is a common practice and vigilance can mitigate risk. Using sound judgment can make you more self-reliant, so take note of your prior activities and subsequent physical condition before administering any alternative home remedies for your body aches. Certain body pains can be signs of something more serious, which means you should have a family doctor on call just in case.

The Common Causes of Body Aches

People deal with body aches for a variety of reasons, and few of them have to do with age or gender. In fact, muscles in the body can become sore from overuse or under use, meaning people from all walks of life suffer from this sudden, uncomfortable feeling. However, certain occupations, activities, and conditions can worsen muscle pain, include but not limited to the following:

  • Strenuous exercise
  • Injury
  • Low blood flow
  • Dehydration
  • Calcium and/or potassium deficiency

Micro tears in the muscle tissue are often responsible for general soreness after any kind of physical exertion. To stop this process at the source, strengthen your muscles with regular exercise and support their growth with a healthy, well-balanced diet.

Be mindful that muscle cramps and sprains are not the same thing as general muscle soreness. A muscle cramp is when your muscle tissue contracts for a few seconds to several minutes. Most of that time, muscle cramps can be alleviated with massage and potassium intake (i.e. eating a banana). However, a medical professional should examine muscle sprains immediately to prevent further damage to the ligaments and tendons.

Fortunately, general body aches are very common and very treatable. Aside from applying cold or heat to the tender muscle, mixing various concoctions from ingredients found in your kitchen cupboard can be extremely effective. In fact, there is no need for any over-the-counter or prescription medication whatsoever. By utilizing the gifts of nature, we can take advantage of the best alternative remedies for body aches known to man.

The Top 5 Best Alternative Remedies for Body Aches

When taking handfuls of over-the-counter medication is not an option, alternative remedies for body aches must be utilized responsibly. Luckily, despite the many potentially harmful innovations introduced by modern medicine, nature’s bounty still reigns supreme at alleviating general muscle soreness (among many other things). The trick is to understand the various properties of the ingredients contained within each of the following remedies so that you can create your own at-home healing kit.

While none of the information contained in this article is meant to be taken as professional medical advice, years of experience and sound personal research back it. None of the concoctions mentioned here are mixtures, solutions, or salves that have been approved or endorsed by the FDA or any other organization. They are, however, highly effective alternative remedies for body aches that have been proven to work for centuries.

Alternative Remedy No. 1: The Almighty Epsom Salt

Epsom salt is an impressively inexpensive purchase that has a variety of uses, including being used as a sore muscle relaxer. By using just a few cups of the stuff in your warm bath water, big differences in the way you feel can be made. In water, Epsom salt breaks down into magnesium and sulfate – two substances known for their body healing properties.

Furthermore, research suggests that Epsom salt’s healing powers soak in directly through the skin, giving it the power to provide almost instantaneous relief. This inexpensive alternative remedy can even loosen stiff joints, and when scented can provide aromatherapy to further relieve stress and tension. Epsom salt is available any most local pharmacies, but can also be acquired at salons, health and beauty shops, grocery stores, and online.

Add a little of your own magnesium oil to the warm bath and soak for about 15 minutes to see amazing results. Try putting the magnesium oil in a spray bottle and applying it directly to the sore muscles. Since magnesium is known to be a natural muscle relaxant that pulls excess fluid from muscle tissues to reduce swelling, it makes sense to take a dip in it whenever your body begins to ache. NOTE: A lengthy Epsom salt treatment is not recommended for people with health problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease.

Alternative Remedy No. 2: Good Ole’ Blackstrap Molasses

Your grandfather used blackstrap molasses when he had body aches and that was all the time, so you know this stuff is safe. In fact, it can be administered orally or as part of a topical solution. Good news for the dieters out there: it has the lowest sugar content of any cane product on the market. So, eat up because blackstrap molasses contains huge amounts of magnesium, iron, calcium, and vitamin B6 – four substances that are imperative to healthy, happy muscles.

Granddad swore by the stuff, dropping about two tablespoons of it into his morning coffee to cure his chronic muscle pain. At night, he would sip on his mug of “Switchel” and you never knew why. Well now, knowing that “Switchel” is a combination of apple cider vinegar and blackstrap molasses, do you see why your ancestors were so adamant about their home-grown alternative remedies for body aches?

Interestingly, pappy’s vat of “Switchel” is not so uncommon. Early Americans typically used it to alleviate body aches and rehydrate their bodies long before those brightly colored sports drinks came along to steal the show.  The recipe, as follows, is very simple and delicious, and it can be a fun tradition to make it for family members who need a quick pick-me-up:

  • ¼ cup of blackstrap molasses (found at your local grocery store)
  • ½ cup of apple cider vinegar
  • 2/3 to 1 cup honey, sugar, or natural sweetener
  • Optional: 1 ½ teaspoons of ginger (ground as finely as possible)

Mix all ingredients in a pitcher and fill with warm water until everything is dissolved. You can even chill it and serve it over ice if you want to. “Switchel” is both healthy and helpful, which might explain why it can also be habit forming (in a good way).

Alternative Remedy No. 3: Everybody’s Favorite Apple Cider Vinegar

On the streets, it’s known as ACV, but for the purposes of this article we’ll just call it apple cider vinegar and be done with it. Apple cider vinegar has numerous health benefits that are supported by modern scientists, the same experts who promote those beloved over-the-counter medications and prescription pharmaceuticals. Why then, aren’t more people pulling it down from their cupboards when their bodies begin to ache?

The answer may be because of the smell. Apple cider vinegar isn’t exactly pleasant, but it is very effective at making sore muscles go away. More so than that though, apple cider vinegar can induce weight loss, lower blood pressure and blood sugar levels, and it is known to improve various symptoms of diabetes. With all that said, how can apple cider vinegar be used without making you gag from the rancid aroma?

A lot of people like to drip a drop or two (more like a teaspoon or two) into their drink, often slamming it down like a shot. Rather brazen individuals can gulp apple cider vinegar straight, but for the rest of us, adding a little bit to a glass of water or fresh fruit juice sounds more like it. If consuming the stuff isn’t your style, you can rub the vinegar right on the sore muscle to make it feel better. See? Nature has thought of everything.

TIP: Add some honey or fresh mint to your little ACV concoction to make it more edible.

Alternative Remedy No. 4: Essential Oils (Yes, like the ones for your face and hair)

Those essential oils clogging up your bathroom counter are not going to use themselves. How many times a day do you wipe them on your face or in your hair? How expensive were they? Why not get your money’s worth and use them as an alternative remedy for body aches? It works and you don’t even have to leave your house to start feeling better.

Essential oils have various beneficial properties, and some oils actually alleviate muscle pain better than they do whatever it is you thought they did when you bought them. Case in point: chamomile. You will probably spot it, or lavender, in one or more of your fine beauty products there, but did you know that chamomile is highly effective at soothing sore muscles? Just two or three drops on the affected area and voila, your pain starts going away. Not bad for an oil marketed for its anti-aging properties.

Other essential oils that work wonders include olive oil, coconut oil, basil, marjoram, peppermint, and helichrysum. So basically, it’s not just your bathroom that’s full of muscle-saving goodies and gadgets. Your kitchen is a treasure trove as well.  You had better take advantage.

Alternative Remedy No. 5: Heat Rubs

There are several advantages to massaging a sore body, but we don’t have to tell you that. However, adding a little naturally derived heat might be something you hadn’t thought about. Did you know that capsaicin, the compound responsible for the heat in spicy foods, has been used by people to alleviate joint and muscle pain since the middle ages? Since you’re already in the kitchen, you may as well go on and grab up the following items if you have them:

  • Cayenne pepper and olive oil; or
  • Cinnamon and honey

Heat rubs are a terrific way to heal your sore body for free, and without using potentially harmful medications. Cayenne pepper and cinnamon both contain capsaicin, which means they can be used in the same way. The olive oil and honey merely act as carriers for the capsaicin, although olive oil is known to have its own muscle healing properties as well.

By mixing together either cayenne pepper and olive oil or cinnamon and honey and gently rubbing that mixture directly to your sore muscles, the pain should begin to subside quickly. Notice that the mixture heats up over time, causing the muscle tissues to relax and release. Be sure not to leave these heat mixtures on your skin for too long though, as they can cause irritation or burning on people with extremely sensitive skin.

Heat rubs, in order to work properly, must be administered to a body at rest. Try not to be standing when massaging your sore muscles. It helps to lie down and have someone rub it out for you if possible. If not possible, purchase an automatic massager that requires little effort on your part to use.

Special Considerations about Alternative Remedies for Body Aches

Keep in mind that chronic achiness may be your body’s way of trying to signal that something more serious is wrong. Over exerting your body on a regular basis may cause permanent damage, so using band-aid alternative remedies instead of getting real help may exacerbate any existing conditions, whether discovered and diagnosed or not. Do not, under any circumstances, use these remedies if you are allergic to the ingredients contained within. Also, double check that any medications you’re taking won’t have an adverse effect when using these natural at-home remedies. Use your best judgment when healing yourself and try to take care of your body. After all, it’s the only one you’ll ever have.

A toothache varies, and many of us will suffer the degrees of pain throughout our life. In the majority of cases, we’ll have this mild, annoying pain. It could be while brushing our teeth or temporarily when drinking hot or cold liquids.

However, there are times that the pain is excruciating. All we want to do is find a way to make it stop, even if it means ripping the tooth out of our mouths ourselves.

We don’t need to go to such extremes when it comes to treating toothache! It also doesn’t necessarily mean a trip to an expensive emergency dentist. There are other steps that you can take to keep the pain to a minimum until you can seek treatment from your regular dentist—the person that you trust to make the pain go away and protect the health of your teeth.

Here’s a look at all you need to know about a treating toothache at home. You’ll be surprised at the home remedies available.

Why Is the Pain So Bad?

We get a toothache for all sorts of reasons. Having sensitive teeth doesn’t necessarily mean a problem. We just have roots that are a little more exposed than they should be, so hot and cold elements on the teeth will affect them more often than usual.

However, there are other reasons for pain. Tooth decay and cavities are common. If you have a cavity that has been filled, you may find that the filling is degrading and needs replacing. Infections and loose teeth are also common reasons for pain.

The more serious the problem, the worse your pain is likely to be. This is especially the case when it comes to infections and tooth decay. If the decay gets to the root, then you will have the most pain since the nerves are being directly affected. Exposed roots cause some of the most intense pain, which is common when teeth are cracked or chipped.

Of course, teeth cutting through the gums can also cause pain. Those who have lower wisdom teeth cutting through tend to have more pain than any other tooth cutting through. The pain can shoot down the jaw and into the throat, making it extremely difficult to chew and swallow.

So, what can you do to help get rid or at least manage the tooth pain? While pain medication is an option, here are some home remedies that will help.

Use Toothpaste for Your Sensitive Teeth

If you get mild irritating pain throughout the day because of sensitive teeth, you need to think about the toothpaste you’re using. Sensitivity is the most common reason for niggling pain, and manufacturers have already created products for it.

Toothpaste comes in “for sensitive teeth” recipes. If you get one, try it for a few weeks and see how the pain subsides.

Don’t want to put chemicals on your teeth? Worried about it just being a marketing ploy?

You can make your own toothpaste for sensitivity. Mix some baking soda and water to create a paste. Add a few drops of vanilla extract. The numbing agent within the vanilla will help to ease the pain, while the baking soda cleans your teeth. If you want to add salt, that will help to remove the bacteria from your teeth!

Use a Salt Wash Twice a Day

Let’s start with the salt wash or rinse. This is one of the most effective tips for helping to reduce pain, inflammation, and infection. The salt is the active part of this rinse and will fight against infection and tooth decay in the mouth. While you can’t completely stop the tooth decay, the salt will help to reduce the progression of it.

You should use a salt wash on a daily or twice a day basis. This is much more effective than those antibacterial mouthwashes that you can get in the store. Bacteria in the mouth has started to become resistant to the antibacterial properties in mouthwashes, just like they have with antibacterial medication. Just swish it around your mouth and gargle at the back of the throat to get rid of any bacteria there.

Try adding a little pepper to your salt rinse for some extra help. The pepper can help to reduce inflammation in the mouth, which is excellent when your pain is linked to swollen gums, infection, or cutting teeth.

You don’t just have to create mouthwash with your salt and pepper. Add a little water to make them into a paste and apply directly to the affected and painful area. This helps the two ingredients work together and fight the exact infection.

Apply Crushed Garlic on the Painful Area

Garlic is another ingredient that has natural antibiotic, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties. In fact, it has so many medicinal properties that it is highly recommended for the majority of natural cures available.

Of course, garlic doesn’t smell that great. This isn’t going to be something you want to apply directly before going out. Try to find a time in the day when you will have time for your body to lessen the smell, such as before you go to bed at night. The great news is that you only need to apply this once a day for a few days until the pain has gone.

Add the garlic to water and make it into a paste. You can also add some salt for more antibacterial properties in your home remedy.

If you don’t want to waste time with the paste, why not just chew cloves of garlic instead? Chew on the side that it hurts if this is comfortable for you. This is also something that you can do with cloves if you would prefer the taste!

Onion is another ingredient to consider chewing raw on a daily basis. Spend the night while watching TV chewing on the onion to get the antibacterial and antifungal properties. You’ll also find that you’re not that hungry for snacks, so you lose weight at the same time!

Numb With Some Peppermint Tea

Peppermint tea is known for having numbing power. This is only temporary, but it could be temporary enough to help at least you get some sleep on a night and give you some relief during the day. It’s not a guaranteed way to get rid of serious toothache but can reduce it enough to help you get through the days to make it to a regular dentist appointment.

Peppermint tea has other health benefits too. Even if it doesn’t completely numb the pain, it will be beneficial in the long term.

You’ll only need a teaspoon of peppermint leaves in your cup of boiling water to make this work. If you don’t have peppermint leaves, you can use peppermint tea bags, but they’re not quite as effective.

Now it’s up to you if you want to drink the tea or use it as a wash. Some people will allow the tea to cool and use it as mouthwash daily. I prefer to drink mine! I’ll get the relaxing benefits of the hot liquid as well as the numbing agent.

If you really like the smell of peppermint but not the taste, you can try burning some peppermint oil in a diffuser or add it to your bath water. The oil burning has been known to help ease headaches, but the jury is still out when it comes to a toothache.

Normal black tea has also been linked to reducing pain. This is especially the case if your toothache is linked to inflammation. The black tea reduces inflammation and helps to keep some of the pressure off the nerves. You don’t even need to drink the tea! Just place the warm teabag onto your tooth to help relieve the pain directly.

Okay, so this is another that may not be the tastiest of methods, but it works. Surely that’s worth it, right?

Apply Ice to the Affected Area

Ice is a powerful way to numb the area and reduce the swelling. You can get the pressure on the nerves and stop them being able to send pain through your body at the same time.

While the ice won’t help to treat the reason for the pain, you can at least manage your pain. It could be just enough to get you to sleep or make it through to your dentist appointment.

Applying ice directly to your teeth can be dangerous. You could have sensitivity pain or end up chipping or cracking your teeth on the ice accidentally. It’s best to wrap some ice cubes up in a tea towel and place on your face. Pop, it on the side where the pain is like you would with pain in any other part of your body.

Use Vanilla Extract Directly on the Area

You likely have vanilla extract in the house for your cooking. If you don’t, it’s easy and affordable to buy. If you don’t have extract, you may actually have an essential oil in the house. This is just as good.

It’s the vanilla that you really want. This has the numbing agent in it. It’s not the most powerful, but it is effective when applied directly to the area that is causing you the most pain.

Pop some of the vanilla extracts onto a cotton swab and then rub it over the tooth or infected gum area that is causing the pain. The benefit of the swab is that it’s small enough to get right to the back of your mouth. Make sure your swab is a clean and fresh one from the packet! The last thing you want is to add more bacteria or elements to the infected and painful area.

Repeat this a few times a day. The numbing agent will wear off over time.

Numb the Area with Alcohol

A small amount of alcohol has always been used for a curing toothache, and it is certainly effective. You may have even heard your parents tell you that they used to put a drop of whiskey in your baby bottle to help you sleep through the teething stage! Yes, that really happened!

Don’t use it on babies, but you could use it on yourself. You just need a small amount to rub on the affected area. The alcohol works to numb rather than treat the pain and will help you at least get to sleep on a night.

This is not an excuse to drink the whole bottle of whiskey! You really just need a couple of drops rubbed directly on the painful tooth or gum.

Distract and Release Happy Hormones with Pressure

It’s time to get your brain to release the happy and pain-killer hormones. You don’t need to exercise or run a relaxing bath, and you can do it all at your desk at work. It’s all about applying pressure!

Push on the area at your base of your thumb, where it meets your index finger. There’s a pressure point in here that tells your brain to start releasing the feel-good hormones. These feel good hormones include the body’s natural painkiller, so you don’t feel the pain in your body anymore. It’s a trick that’s used for headaches, chronic pain, and much more.

Applying the pressure will also distract you from the pain in your tooth. You push your mind onto doing something about it rather than sitting and waiting for a dentist appointment.

This is also a trick that you can use with all the other toothache fighting tips already mentioned above!

Use Gum to Cover a Crack

This is definitely just a temporary measure. If you have a loose filling or cracked tooth, you may get extreme pain throughout the day. You want to get air and any food away from the nerves that are now exposed, which means finding something to cover the area while you wait for your dentist appointment.

Try softened gum. It can help just to cover the area and you can quickly remove it before your appointment. Make sure it is sugar-free gum to avoid doing extra damage to your teeth.

This is more of a last-ditch attempt to fight off the pain for just a day or so.

Don’t Forget Your Dentist Appointment

It seems silly to say, but there are so many people who avoid the dentist. You need to book a dentist appointment when you have pain because it is a sign that there is another problem. It could be serious enough to need further treatment or tooth extraction.

The only time you can use some of them on a daily basis is if you have naturally sensitive teeth. If there isn’t a more serious reason for the sensitivity, the tips above can just help manage the mild and annoying pain.

The remedies above are temporary home ones that you can apply on a daily basis. They’re there to help numb the pain and get you through the days until your appointment. These tips are not to help prevent a visit completely.

When you get pain, contact your dentist and book your appointment. Go through the above tips and just get yourself through the next few days.

You really don’t need to put up with chronic acne. It can seem like it, but there are treatments available that will help to put a stop to chronic and severe acne causing you a nightmare.

One of the biggest problems is stopping the reason for the acne. Yes, acne is just a side effect or symptom of a different issue. In most cases, it’s a problem with your hormonal balances, which is why teenagers, pregnant women, and those going through menopause seem to have the worst of it. Acne isn’t a sign that you have very dirty skin!

Of course, there is also the problem of oily skin, which can cause acne. No, you don’t have dirty or fatty skin. Your skin is just producing more natural oils than it actually needs and your pores become clogged. Bacteria has a space to grow, and you end up with blackheads, white-heads, and red pox marks all over your face and body.

So, it’s time to put an end to chronic acne. There are natural and chemical ways to help promote the health of your skin and here’s all you need to know. We’ll start with natural and then look at some of the medication and chemical options available.

Start by Leaving Your Acne Alone!

Young woman has problems with skin on the face

I know how tempting it is to pop those spots. You see the loan white head and all you want to do is get rid of it. Surely the little red mark looks less unsightly than the white head. It doesn’t look as obvious when red, right?

Well, you’re doing more harm than good when you pop your zits. This is especially the case when you have chronic acne, which can also be known as cystic acne. Your severe acne is usually going to be deep, and you won’t have many pimples that pop easily. You’ll need to push from deep down in the layers of skin, so you’re actually damaging more layers.

When you pop your chronic acne, you’ll end up with bright red spots, and it will take weeks actually to heal the whole area. You’re opening a wound that is more likely to get bacteria stuck in it again, so you increase the chance of getting more acne in the long term!

On top of that, the bacteria spread beneath the layers of the skin. You’ll find that you get more pimples in the surrounding area because you caused the ‘infection’ to spread. You’ll also have more scarring, which you will see for longer.

If you do nothing else natural, do this. Just leave your acne alone, and the heads will disappear eventually. Yes, it is hard, and you really need to try to take this step. It will be worth it all in the end. I can promise you!

In Fact, Keep Your Fingers Away from Your Face!

Just keep your hands and fingers well away from your face. This does make your acne worse because touching helps to spread the bacteria.

The bacteria will cling to your fingers and move to other areas of your skin. Those sections that didn’t have the blocked pores will now get blocked and start breeding more bacteria.

And it’s not just the bacteria from other parts of your skin causing a problem! The bacteria from your computer keyboard, the door handles, and even your phone will end up on your face. If you’re ill, you also have that bacterium to contend with.

Really, it’s just best not putting your hands on your face if you can really help it. This is another one that can be hard because it tends to become a subconscious habit. Try to stop yourself when you realise you do it to protect your skin and stop the spread.

Pop Some Ice on It

Beautiful happy woman with natural looking makeup holding ice neIf you really can’t leave it alone, actually take the steps that will help to reduce the redness and inflammation. This means using some ice.

The ice can be placed right onto your acne and will help to soothe the inflammation in your skin. It won’t look as red, and you’ll find that it isn’t as painful either. The ice will also help to shrink the pores, preventing any more bacteria getting stuck in the layers of your skin.

Ice will also promote the healing process and help to hide any issue that you currently have. Once you’ve finished, make sure you pop on some moisturising cream, because the ice can dry out your skin since your blood vessels shrink and you don’t get as much blood flowing to the area.

You can put the ice directly on your skin, but it is best to use a clean towel or cloth to wrap the ice up. Ice directly on the skin runs the risks of sticking and damaging the top layers.

Change Your Detergent and Fabric Softener

We know that our fingers shouldn’t touch our skin, but what about the materials that do? We’ll have pillowcases, towels, clothes and scarves all touching where the acne is.

You may think that if you wash your items regularly, you’ll be fine. However, it could actually be your detergent or fabric softener that is making your skin worse. They can be irritable, meaning that you scratch and accidentally pop your zits. There’s the irritation in the lower layers that you just can’t reach!

If you find that you’re itching, consider switching your detergent and fabric softener to see if they are the problem. It could also be washing too frequently or even infrequently. Just make slight changes for a few weeks at a time to see if they help to ease your chronic acne.

Try to Relax More Often

I know this is another one that’s easier said than done. If you’re a parent, have a high-stress job, or are naturally a worrier, you will find that relaxing is hard to come by. But it’s so important to do to put a stop to that chronic acne.

In fact, finding a way to relax will help just completely to stop other health problems. You see, stress is known as a silent killer. It raises the blood pressure and puts excess pressure on your organs. You end up more likely to suffer from a heart attack or stroke. Is it really worth it when you can take steps to help you relax?

Let’s start by finding a way to unwind at the end of the day. Do you like to soak in a hot bath? Maybe you just want to curl up with some chamomile tea and a good book. Soothing music and having 30 minutes to yourself once a week where you don’t have work or the kids screaming at you is often just the trick you need.

Find what works for you and create a plan to fit it into your lifestyle. Make it part of your resolutions to fit into your day somehow.

How does relaxing help with the chronic acne? The release of stress hormones leads to a hormonal imbalance. Your skin will produce more natural oils, so it ends up greasy and struggling with blocked pores. The bacteria have more space to grow and breed, so you end up with acne constantly becoming an issue.

When you find a way to relax, you keep the stress hormones to a minimum. You can release more happy hormones, which means you end up reducing the skin oils and keeping them at an average level for your need. After all, you need some of the oils to act as a barrier against the elements!

Keep the Hormones in Check with Sleep

It does not just stress that causes a hormonal imbalance. Sleep deprivation is also a major issue, and more of us are sleep deprived than we would like to admit.

You need to find a way to get a better night’s sleep. This isn’t about the quantity but the quality. Some of us will work perfectly find off six hours, as long as they are six hours where our bodies have had the chance to turn off and relax. If we are constantly shifting or waking up, we’ll need more hours and can still feel tired the next day.

If you struggle to get a peaceful night’s sleep, you will need to assess why that is. Make it part of your routine to work out whether stress is causing an issue or if there is a deeper problem. Depression and anxiety can make sleep harder, which then makes your mental health worse! It’s a difficult cycle that you may need medical help to get over.

The great news is that when you start to get more sleep, you will find your hormones are better balanced. You’ll be happier within yourself and find it easier to stop worrying as much. You’ll also find it easier to eat a balanced diet, which brings us to the next step in stopping chronic acne!

Get More Protein in Your Diet

Food high in protein close-up

Your diet needs protein to rebuild and protect the DNA and elements within the body. Protein isn’t just for your muscles, but also for the ligaments, tendons, and collagen in your body.

The collagen is the important part here. Collagen keeps your skin flexible and damage free. The more collagen you have, the less likely that chronic acne is going to damage your skin permanently. You have something to fight against it.

So, it’s time to look at adding more protein to your diet. Consider the likes of lean meat, legumes, and nuts for a healthier diet.

You’ll also want to focus on more vitamins and minerals, especially antioxidants. The antioxidants will help to repair damage to the skin cells, supporting their re-growth and new formation. You fight off the free radicals, which can make acne worse!

While you’re getting more protein and antioxidants, you’ll also need water to keep your collagen boosted. Hydration also helps your skin glow and cleansed, keeping the pores open and bacteria free.

Consider Cleansing With Essential Oils

Some essential oils can help to clean up the excess bacteria, add hydration, and prevent excess oil production. In short, the oils will help to keep your chronic acne at bay.

You’ll need to use the likes of tea tree oil and lavender oil for this trick. The great thing is that there are different ways to apply them and they will help you relax. These types of essential oils offer various vitamins and minerals directly into the layers of your skin, including antioxidants.

Start by using them on a cotton ball as part of your cleansing routine. Once you’ve washed your daily makeup off and exfoliating your skin, run over with the essential oils to get rid of the dirt and grime from deep within the pores. You can then use a night cream to help protect the pores from bacteria growth.

There’s also the option of adding essential oils to other facial cleansers (even making your own with them) or to your moisturising creams. If you don’t want to apply them directly to your skin, add a few drops to your bath water and allow yourself to soak in them. You’ll breathe the vapours in to help your whole body relax.

Some people may find that essential oils make their chronic acne worse. If you have sensitive skin, you will need to see how you react to the oils. If you find that your skin is irritable, stop using them since they won’t do you any good.

Speak to Your Doctor About Severe Acne Treatment

Some people will only have medication options for treating their chronic acne. The products tend to dry out the natural oils to help reduce the clogging of the pores. Unfortunately, they can go too far and make your skin flaky and irritable, meaning you’ll need to moisturise more frequently.

Doctors can recommend anti-inflammatory treatments, depending on the reason for your acne. The inflammation can occur because your body thinks there is something to fight against. In many cases, there isn’t, and the inflammation makes the acne worse. Your body has this difficult cycle that it can’t get out of without some help.

Your acne cysts may need to be removed professionally. Your doctor will be able to assess the severity of your acne and decide the best treatment. If something doesn’t work, your doctor can go back to the drawing board.

The benefit with medical treatments is that you can use the majority of home remedies at the same time. And getting more sleep, less stress, and not touching your face will all help to reduce the problem and any side effects.

You Can Stop Your Chronic Acne

Only you have the power to stop your chronic acne fully. Your doctor can offer medication, but you will need to make some changes to your lifestyle to help prevent the cysts from appearing and prevent damage to the lower layers of your skin.

Take the steps above and follow them for the foreseeable. Some of them will help to improve your overall health and not just stop chronic acne. Your hormones will be more in balance, and you’ll find that any type of acne or blackhead is stopped permanently.
